Firstly, big big thanks to Steve for his extensive expertise, and extensive patience in finding the right pair of Altbergs to fit my requirements. Replaced my time served Highlander Special Forces boots and decided to pay the bit extra and go for higher quality. I'm not disappointed! First weekend in and 15K in over rough terrain/ steep rocky hills and variety of muddy wet conditions the Barnigham's have been utterly faultless. Fit on the A form last sole gives great heel support and the grip from the sole unit up hill is quite remarkable (Way better than my Highlanders). Ok, so at £280 not cheap n cheerful by any means, but it appears when it comes to quality boots you get what you pay for. Time will tell on wear/ durability, but, based on other peoples feedback & existing Altberg reputation I'm pretty confident it's money well spent.
So pleased with my new boots (not to mention the faultless service from Camouflage Store) I've also ordered a second pair of Altbergs for other work/ recreation activities.
Would highly recommend investing in this great British brand.
