Altberg Sneeker MK II Microlite

Altbergs legendary Sneeker® Microlite is possibly the most lightweight, all leather military boot ever made.

Developed in 1997 with input and help of serving soldiers based in Catterick Garrison and other military bases around the UK. The input from many of the NCO’s involved in training and developing the skills and endurance of young recruits drove this development. As bootmakers we listened and tried to interpret their requirements.

The requirement was for a leather boot that was shock absorbing, lightweight with minimal moisture absorption, as on many tasks it was inevitable that they would get wet inside, so minimal weight gain when wet and fast drying were key requirements.

The Sneeker® Microlite has a high unlined leg and after more than 20 years it is still the first choice of many soldiers for selection and training and everyday use.

Sole	Defender Hi-Traction Sole - excellent up-hill traction and downhill braking. Slip Resistance: highest level SRC (ISO EN 20345:2012). Anti-Static: (ISO EN 20344:6.2.2.2 (345). Oil Resistance: (ISO EN 20345:2012). Shock Absorption of Heel: (ISO EN 20344:2012: 5.1.4).

Size & fitting advice

For medium or wide fitting boots, we suggest that you go up ½ a size on your usual shoe size - this works ok in 80% of cases and allows for a thicker sock to be used with the boots. The following 3 widths - XN, N, XW, may be specially ordered from the factory. However, for special orders a factory visit may be required for foot measuring and trying on.

Altberg Sneekers

These are some extremely lightweight, very comfortable boots. My second pair of Altberg , the fit and finish is top notch. The boot is not only light but wicks moisture away from the foot very nicely. This is extremely important for people that make their living wearing boots , and not knowing how long you will have the boots on during any given day.
I wish these were available when I was serving 30 yrs ago, but great for hiking and outdoor living.
