In 1989 Altberg started making leather hiking boots in the classic English style, padded ankle cuff, full grain leather and strong sole support. The Fremington Men is the second generation of the Altberg classic walking boots and it has remained virtually unchanged for the past 15 years. It is Altberg's best selling walking boot in 5 width fittings and it uses water repellent full grain Anfibio leather, backed up by a Sympatex® waterproof lining. The sole is Vibram® with good stiffness and support on rough terrain. Ideal for English hills, Dales and lower lever Lakeland walks and hikes.

XN - We don’t normally sell extra narrow by mail order or online, only when a customer has previously worn Altberg boots or is sure of their fitting.
N - If you have narrow feet, then we suggest that you keep with your normal shoe size.
M - For medium feet we suggest that you go up ½ a size on your SHOE size – this will allow for a thick sock with the boots.
W - For wide feet we suggest that you go up ½ a size on your SHOE size – this will allow for a thick sock with the boots.
